The firm is made up of Senior Professional Engineers and Certified Engineering Technologists and Technicians specializing in Mechanical, Electrical, Communications and Security Engineering design and construction of commercial/institutional buildings and spaces for federal/national, provincial and local/regional governmental and commercial clients and in a wide variety of sectors and markets. Examples include Governmental, Institutional, Security and Defence, Public Safety, Commercial Office, Healthcare, Education, Science & Technology and more.

The firm’s core belief is that clients should not have to choose between expertise and service. HDK offers senior-level, specialized design and project experience typical of large, well-established engineering firms using a streamlined, accessible and adaptable model of service that clients want and expect. Our principals actively manage every project the firm undertakes and use an approach that is both integrated in terms of how design challenges are framed and multi-disciplinary in how they are analyzed and addressed. Managing our practice in this way means we are adept at handling multiple contracts of varying size and complexity even if they simultaneously without sacrificing responsiveness. Since incorporation in 2012, HDK has grown from three principal shareholders to include senior and intermediate engineers, engineering technologists as well as a dedicated BIM/CAD technicians. Together, HDK’s team works to carry out the principals’ founding vision in all its projects and through service to its clients grow the company to become one of the most respected engineering firms in the province.
