About HDK
HDK As a practice
HDK was founded on a desire to give all our clients what they need and want – professional, expert engineering services with the management expertise, access to multiple disciplines and geographical reach of a large firm but also with the ease of access and integrated nature of smaller, specialized ones. We do this by dedicating a Principal-Project Manager to every project, continuously developing our firm’s design approach that integrates multiple inhouse disciplines and specialties and maintaining the ability to practice anywhere in Canada our clients’ projects take them.
Since our establishment in 2013, we have helped our clients achieve project success by tailoring our mechanical, electrical and communications and security engineering design and consulting expertise to their projects’ unique design challenges.

Mechanical:
GHG Reduction
HDK led a two-phase upgrade of a national research centre’s mechanical systems in order to reduce overall GHG reduction by an ambitious 1,200 Megatons. Using an integrated design process, HDK provided technical expertise to help focus the decision-making process while staying in line with the project’s success criteria.

Electrical:
Southport Redevelopment
This three million, five-year phased redevelopment of this multi-floor community recreational facility involved conversion of an aging swimming pool, a daycare addition and other features. HDK worked as part of a cross-disciplinary team to provide mechanical, electrical and communications engineering design and services during construction.
