POSITIONS CURRENTLY AVAILABLE:

HDK’s Senior or Intermediate Mechanical Engineer / Mechanical Technologist will lead the mechanical aspects of the firm’s projects including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire protection design for commercial buildings. This entails both delegating project design tasks and performing design task (depending on project size).

Specific Responsibilities and Tasks include:

  • Manage projects and deadlines while keeping the mechanical engineer of record and project manager well informed of project status.
  • Prepare construction documents (drawings and specifications).
  • Write specifications, schedules and technical reports and control schedules, budgets.
  • Perform onsite reviews, contract administration
  • Attend meeting with clients, other consultants and contractors
  • Prepare design calculations and review plans for compliance with client requirements, guidelines, codes and other regulations.
  • Perform condition assessments on existing building systems, prepare written reports
  • Perform all other tasks related to design and site review of building Mechanical systems.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to junior technical staff.

Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in the design of building Mechanical systems including HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection required.  Experience must be in building consulting engineering.
  • Registration as a C.E.T., CTech with CTTAM or P. Eng with EGM.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD and MS Office required.
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada CISD Security Clearance
  • Travel required; 1-3 days per month on average with overnight stays in other provinces.
  • Driver’s License and vehicle to attend site visits/meetings required.
  • Good initiative, attentive to details, ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Salary will be commensurate with experience. HDK consulting offers a full health and dental package.

 

 Junior Business Administrator 

Specific Responsibilities and Tasks include:

  • Update Office Policies, Standards. 
  • Conduct general clerical duties. 
  • Prepare monthly invoicing, Accounts Payable/ Accounts Receivable. 
  • Review time sheets and report to Management and prepare payroll. 
  • Prepare bank deposits for review and Processing of Management. 
  • Coordinate bookings for staff travel. 
  • Perform Company Security officer duties, Request for Visits, Security Clearance requests. 
  • Prepare Proposals and Marketing material for review by Management. 
  • Prepare specification and assist with managing project deadlines. 
  • Review Employee files and advise management 
  • Prepare Employee Review documentation, basic HR responsibilities 
  • Become familiar with office-based project management software 
  • Order supplies. 

Qualifications 

  • Diploma from Red River College Business Administration Program or equivalent 
  • Experience in MS Office, Timekeeping software, Adobe. 
  • Ability to obtain Government of Canada Security Clearance at Level II 
  • Good initiative, attention to details. 
  • Ability to work independently 
  • Ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  
  • Driver’s Licence
